About the Opportunity
Tsebo Catering is recruiting a General Assistant - B&I to join its team.
The successful candidate will assist Cooks and Chefs with food production, operate the cash register, serve food, and maintain cleanliness across the canteen and kitchen.
Tsebo Solutions Group is an integrated facilities solutions provider operating across Africa and the Middle East. Its services include catering, cleaning, facilities management and security.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure company and statutory cleanliness and hygiene regulations are followed.
Maintain required customer-service, operational, health and safety, and food-quality standards.
Assist with preparation of meals, particularly salads and desserts.
Place entrees, salads, desserts and other food items on the serving line.
Keep the serving line clean and adequately stocked.
Assist with training new employees where required.
Store and record food leftovers appropriately.
Keep canteen tables, kitchen areas and other work areas clean and orderly.
Ensure customer expectations are met within the requirements of the contract.
Maintain a high level of customer service.
Where applicable, count stock and ensure it is correctly handed over to staff on the following shift.
Carry out reasonable requests from management.
Report and, where possible, resolve customer and client complaints or acknowledge compliments.
Attend required meetings and training courses.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Be free from skin allergies to foods and detergents.

Have the stamina to work approximately 45–50 hours per week.
Be physically able to bend, stand and lift as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have completed at least Matric / Senior Certificate.
