JOB PURPOSE
The CSA/Driver is responsible for assembling flights, checking equipment, and delivering meals, beverages and catering equipment to aircraft. The successful candidate will ensure the timely and accurate handover of catering items to cabin crew in line with client specifications.
The role requires strict adherence to aviation safety protocols, hygiene standards and operational schedules.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Adhere to the company's Code of Conduct and ensure the correct PPE is worn whilst on duty.
Collect loading schedules from Operations to determine loading and delivery according to airline client schedules.
Book radio and vehicle and perform vehicle inspections according to company procedures/checklists.
Collect flight equipment, meal trolleys, bins, bars and ice, and load the truck according to flight schedules and aircraft configurations.
Transport trolleys to aircraft, strip aircraft of used equipment and load trolleys according to aircraft load configuration.
Ensure flight controllers sign meal declaration forms.
Perform safety checks and operate the hydraulic hoist system to align the cab with the aircraft according to procedure.
Transport used equipment to sanitation and return bars to the unit for recycling.
Report vehicle problems and hand them over to the Shift Manager.
Keep work areas clean in accordance with HACCP requirements.
Maintain effective communication between Drivers and Operations throughout the shift.
Reconcile check sheets with control sheets and flight controllers to ensure all information complies with client specifications.
Assemble trolleys and ovens according to check and control sheets and menu specifications.
Attend to and assemble special meal requests according to client specifications.
Assemble equipment according to flight specifications.
Ensure Bar Trolleys are available according to flight requirements.
Hand over assembled flights according to client specifications and allow crew to validate contents and menu requirements.
Confirm handover with the Ramp Agent.
Observe and report deviations or problems during handover to the Shift Manager.
Operate vehicles according to operating procedures and ACSA requirements.
Comply with all requirements relating to security, SHEQ, HACCP, food safety regulations and operational policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
Valid Code 10 driver's licence and PDP.
3 years' experience in in-flight loading.
Practical training on aircraft types and load configurations.
Willingness to undergo training on ACSA ramp safety standards and security regulations.
Willingness to undergo internal food safety and HACCP training.
