Main Purpose of the Job
To assist the driver in the safe loading, securing, and offloading of glass products and to help manoeuvre the delivery vehicle safely. The Truck Assistant ensures that all glass is handled correctly and transported securely according to company procedures and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

Identify the most suitable areas for safe loading and offloading.

Complete quality check sheets during loading.

Load and offload glass in a safe and secure manner.

Report any property damage to the driver or supervisor.

Ensure loads are properly restrained before leaving the customer’s premises.

Assist the driver with reversing or moving the truck in confined or limited-visibility spaces.

Support the driver in managing delivery paperwork.

Follow all standard operating procedures and company rules.

Adhere to environmental, safety, and housekeeping standards.

Perform any additional tasks as requested by the factory supervisor.

Be willing to work overtime and weekends as required.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Grade 12 (Matric).
-
Code 10 or higher valid driver’s licence with PrDP (advantageous).
