Purpose of the Job
The purpose of this role is to implement and maintain a profitable business model for the Meat Market department while ensuring full compliance with company policies, food safety, and hygiene standards. The Meat Market Trainer will be responsible for conducting training sessions at company offices, training schools, and stores to ensure operational excellence across all Meat Markets.
Key Objectives and Responsibilities

Design and implement a profitable business model for Meat Markets.

Ensure all national Meat Market policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to.

Enforce compliance with Food Safety and Hygiene procedures and standards.

Assess and control the quality of convenience food suppliers.
-
Manage the Meat Market training school efficiently.

Provide expert input on the maintenance of butchery equipment.

Advise on Meat Market layout and equipment improvements.

Oversee and ensure adherence to processing and production procedures and policies.

Ensure proper implementation of meat cutting standards, techniques, and quality procedures.
Qualifications
Essential:
-
Matric (National Senior Certificate) or equivalent qualification.

Butchery qualification (trade or industry-recognized).
Experience
Essential:
-
Minimum of 10 years’ butchery experience.
Desirable:
-
Experience in Meat Market management or supervisory roles.
Knowledge and Skills
-
Training and facilitation skills.
-
Advanced butchery and meat cutting skills.
-
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
-
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
-
Ability to train and mentor staff across multiple locations.
