Job Description

This position is at B5 level and reports to the Tribology Oil Technologist.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Receive samples from the workshop, verify job card, oil hours, and machine hours.
Prepare samples according to standard procedures, including monthly bulk oil and diesel samples.
Conduct a variety of analytical tests on both new and used oil and fuel samples using lab instruments and procedures.
Test daily control samples and record results for standardization.
Monitor sample performance during analysis and report any deviations to the Oil Analyst.
Dispose of oil after analysis is completed.
Store retention samples and laboratory chemicals appropriately.
Dispose of lab waste and keep the lab clean.
Assist the supervisor and coworkers when instructed.
Provide backup when the responsible person is unavailable.

Qualifications Required

Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science and/or Technical N3 qualification (certificate required)
Engineering Assistant Level N2

Experience Required

Minimum 1-year engineering experience

Additional Requirements

Valid Code 8 Driver’s License
