Stock Clerk (2 Positions)

Job Purpose
To handle all stock-related tasks and administration in cooperation with the Food Service Supervisor. Responsibilities include the physical handling of stock, accurate record-keeping, and maintaining cleanliness and compliance in storage areas.
Key Responsibilities
Physical Stock Handling
-
Match purchase orders, invoices, and received stock
-
Store, receive, and issue stock following FIFO principles
-
Conduct weekly stock takes and assist auditors
-
Monitor expiry dates, shortages, and slow-moving stock
-
Record surplus and written-off stock
Administrative Duties
-
Capture invoices and stock records in systems (e.g., UniCom)
-
Assist in processing stock requests and returns
-
Support with in-service training of students (dietetics and consumer sciences)
-
Accompany technicians during job card tasks
Equipment and Tools
-
Weigh and measure ingredients accurately
-
Conduct equipment stock counts and report faults
Cleaning and Hygiene
-
Clean stock areas and equipment per schedules
-
Issue and record use of food-safe cleaning products
-
Track delivery and condition of protective clothing
-
Monitor waste management and report non-conformances
Food and Occupational Health & Safety
-
Maintain compliance with food safety regulations
-
Conduct quality checks on food deliveries
-
Complete relevant reporting forms and corrective actions
-
Monitor fridge temperatures and report issues
-
Support pest control and inspection processes
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 (Matric)
-
At least 1 year of experience in:

A food services environment
-
Stock handling
-
