Job Purpose:

To coordinate all activities related to Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ) within the organization, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and ISO standards. This includes developing and implementing integrated SHEQ management systems, overseeing audits, and liaising with clients to align SHEQ practices with their requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct monthly safety inspections
Perform risk assessments as needed
Assist Contract Manager with audit preparation
Update SHEQ notice boards regularly
Collect and compile SHEQ statistics for reporting
Conduct monthly operational audits to ensure compliance
Capture all SHEQ data (incidents, accidents, inspections, audits) onto the Entropy system
Review and maintain driver matrices (training, medicals, working/driving hours)
Ensure legal and contract housekeeping standards are maintained
Monitor and report on customer-specific SHEQ performance metrics
Coordinate SHEQ training in collaboration with the Training Department
Conduct toolbox talks and safety stand-downs
Provide DriveCam coaching and reporting

Minimum Requirements:

National Diploma or Degree in a relevant field
Proficient in MS Office; strong administrative and reporting skills
Solid knowledge of:
- ISO 9001 (Quality)
- ISO 14001 (Environmental)
- OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)
- COID Act and Road Traffic legislation
- SANS Standards
Experience in accident/incident investigation, reporting, and remediation
Strong leadership and team coordination capabilities
Able to work independently under pressure
Knowledge of the transport/logistics industry is advantageous
Familiarity with Entropy SHEQ software is a plus
