Purpose of the Role:

To ensure the efficient operation of the store by leading and directing the store operations team, achieving financial and compliance targets, and providing excellent service in line with the Clicks brand vision.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve financial targets through sales maximization and proactive performance tracking

  • Manage day-to-day store operations, including stock control, expense management, shrinkage, housekeeping, and admin

  • Oversee visual merchandising and in-store promotions, maintaining brand standards

  • Recruit, lead, and develop store employees to build capability and ensure business continuity

  • Align staffing with labour policies and ensure departments are appropriately resourced

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely submission of HR documentation

  • Implement and oversee customer service strategies to improve loyalty and club card participation

  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders such as centre managers, suppliers, and distribution centres

  • Monitor customer trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities

  • Promote integration and collaboration between store, pharmacy, and clinic teams

  • Create a high-performance culture focused on employee engagement and customer satisfaction

  • Represent and embody the company values and commitment to being a first-choice health and beauty retailer

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of store management experience in retail/FMCG (annual turnover of R50 million+)

  • Proven people management experience over a large, diverse team

  • Hands-on financial management, including budgets and P&L

Education:

  • Grade 12 with minimum 50% in Maths and English

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma in retail, finance management, pharmacy, or related field (for external applicants)
