We are recruiting for a Barista to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately preparing beverages such as coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, as well as taking customer orders and processing payments.

Duties & Responsibilities

Mix and create beverages (including specialty drinks)

Serve alcohol responsibly and know when to refuse service

Promote the establishment’s offerings
-
Be aware of and contribute to financial goals

Wash glassware and maintain a clean bar area

Arrange bar stock and glassware displays
-
Prepare drink garnishes
-
Serve snacks or small food items
-
Maintain inventory of all beverages and related supplies

Order necessary supplies

Operate computerized point-of-sale systems
-
Collect payments and balance cash receipts
-
Use drink dispensing equipment or make drinks manually when needed

Upsell to increase average sales

Possibly supervise bar operations:

Plan and organize bar/lounge operations

Coordinate beverage needs with other staff

Assist with bar menu planning, promotions, and advertising

Take inventory and monitor spillage/losses

Skills and Competencies
-
Completed National Senior Certificate
-
Ability to work quickly and safely
-
Strong communication skills
-
Basic arithmetic skills and ability to follow instructions

Ability to remember orders, read, and write

Team player with good interpersonal skills
-
Physically able to work 45–50 hours per week
Qualifications

National Senior Certificate
-
3–5 years of experience in a similar barista or beverage preparation role
