Role Summary:

We are seeking a Qualified Motor Technician to join our team at Volvo Somerset West. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position designed for a technically skilled, detail-oriented individual who thrives on delivering excellence both under the hood and through customer interaction.

As a Volvo Personal Service Technician, you’ll not only service and repair vehicles to manufacturer standards but also engage with customers, ensuring a premium, end-to-end service experience.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Red Seal / Trade Test Certificate (Qualified Technician)

  • Grade 12 / Matric

  • Valid, unendorsed driver’s licence

  • Prior experience as a Vehicle Technician (Volvo experience an advantage)

  • Computer literacy and diagnostic system proficiency

  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding capabilities

  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management

  • Customer-focused with excellent communication skills


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire customer journey from booking to vehicle handover

  • Provide technical service, repair, and diagnostics across the Volvo vehicle range

  • Engage directly with customers to understand concerns, symptoms, and upsell opportunities

  • Support the service advisor/front-of-house team when needed

  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer standards

  • Maintain a high standard of customer satisfaction and feedback

  • Perform thorough fault investigations and communicate progress updates

  • Ensure awareness and action on any outstanding recalls, service actions, or modifications

  • Promote knowledge sharing and mentor junior technicians

  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement processes
