Role Overview
The Incoming Material Technician for Paint is responsible for ensuring that all incoming materials meet the required specifications and standards. This role involves root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and collaborating closely with suppliers and internal teams to maintain quality and compliance in the paint manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities

Perform root cause analysis and ensure Permanent Corrective Actions (PCAs) are implemented

Verify material specifications against Certificates of Analysis (CoAs)

Use laboratory equipment to validate incoming materials

Validate incoming vs outgoing batches and coordinate with suppliers

Maintain and conduct process capability and process audits
-
Create and maintain Operational Instruction Sheets (OIS) related to material checks
-
Escalate batches that do not meet specifications and manage Engineering Request for Action (ERA) processes

Support ISO coordination with expired or quarantined materials

Conduct pour-outs and spray-outs for material performance validation

Manage and track daily solvent usage

Assist the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team as needed
Required Qualifications and Experience

National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or a related field

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the automotive industry

Minimum 2 years experience specifically within a paint shop environment
Skills and Competencies
-
Strong behavioral skills and ability to work well in teams

Excellent oral and written English communication
-
Ability to analyze and interpret data, including reading graphs for product specifications

Troubleshooting and managing calibration and preventive maintenance of equipment
