Job Description
Purpose of the Job:
-
Carry out maintenance of electrical equipment.
-
Attend to day-to-day breakdowns as per job cards.
-
Ensure that all electrical installations comply with standards.
Functional Outputs:
-
Complete the full apprenticeship programme, both theoretical and practical.
-
Participate in the servicing, repair, and installation of various electrical systems.
-
Perform maintenance on equipment including fault finding, troubleshooting, and part replacement.
-
Assist with installations and upgrades of building wiring and AC 3-phase motors.
-
Execute legally compliant tasks as instructed by the Electrician or Maintenance Team Leader.

Adhere strictly to safety, quality, and operational standards.
-
Assist in breakdown maintenance and equipment commissioning.
-
Operate power and hand-held testing equipment.
-
Report incidents, near misses, and safety hazards accurately and honestly.
Qualifications and Experience
-
Minimum of Grade 12 plus a post-matric qualification (N3 Electrical).

Basic understanding of SANS 10142 wiring code.
-
Familiarity with MERSETA apprenticeship requirements.
-
Basic awareness of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSAct).
-
Computer literacy is essential.

Must have strong report writing ability.

Ability to work independently and in a team; must be deadline-driven.
