Job Purpose

To assist the Store Manager in achieving overall sales, operational excellence, and profitability of the store. This includes training staff, managing daily operations, ensuring policy compliance, and supporting the broader adidas retail goals through strong leadership and team development.


Key Responsibilities

People Development & Management

  • Support the Store Manager in building an efficient and high-performing team

  • Train and develop store associates using adidas tools and learning resources

  • Conduct daily performance evaluations and guide employee improvement

  • Maintain up-to-date and compliant personnel files

  • Recruit and onboard new employees, including payroll-related tasks

Store Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure store processes align with adidas retail policies and legal regulations

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including stock levels, shrinkage control, and staff schedules

  • Implement and uphold safety procedures, loss prevention, and inventory controls

  • Maintain confidentiality of company operations and sensitive information

  • Support implementation of visual merchandising standards

Customer Experience

  • Resolve customer issues professionally and efficiently

  • Ensure high customer service standards at all times

  • Lead by example in customer interactions and service excellence

Sales & Financial Support

  • Support development and execution of sales and marketing plans

  • Monitor store KPIs and support team to achieve sales targets

  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to review product overages, shortages, and merchandising needs


Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: High school diploma (Matric)

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in retail (preferably supervisory level) or an equivalent combination of education and experience


Skills Required

  • Strong communication (verbal and written)

  • Basic numeracy and ability to calculate discounts, percentages, commissions

  • Intermediate computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook, POS systems)

  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and leadership ability

  • Able to present confidently to small-to-moderate size groups

  • Strong attention to detail while keeping the bigger picture in mind
