Assistant Manager (External Applications Only)

Job Purpose
To assist the Store Manager in protecting and growing the store's profitable market share, in line with Cashbuild’s store, divisional, and company strategies.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric) with at least 2 years of retail management experience
-
Valid driver’s license
-
Valid South African ID or valid work permit
-
Strong accounting, administrative, and human resources skills
-
Computer literate
-
Able to work under pressure
-
Strong leadership abilities
-
Own transport and cellphone
-
Sound knowledge of Health and Safety legislation (OHSA or relevant country laws)
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Management

Assist the Store Manager in developing and executing the store’s Business Plan

Align store strategy with company goals and divisional plans
Grow and Protect Market Share

Achieve growth targets for sales and customer base

Promote customer loyalty programs

Distribute marketing material effectively

Customer Service

Stock Control and Asset Management

Control shrinkage and stock movements

Supervise stocktake and wall-to-wall audits

Manage returns, IBTs, and receiving processes

Maintain store security and physical safety measures
Cash Management

Control daily banking, petty cash, debtors, RD cheques

Handle shorts, overs, credit cards, and cheque processes
Fixed Assets Management

Maintain racking, signage, forklifts, generators, IT equipment, and safes
Human Resources

Support recruitment and training

Drive development, succession planning, and career growth

Manage employee relations and store communications
Health & Safety (OHSA)

Ensure legal compliance with OHSA or related legislation

Manage safety appointments, checklists, and incident reports
