Job Overview
A vacancy exists in the Inbound Parts Supply Department for an Assistant Manager: Logistics – Inventory Control, focusing on supply chain operations and inventory management of locally sourced automotive parts. This role requires effective coordination between suppliers and internal departments to ensure inventory accuracy, forecast efficiency, and high service levels.


Key Performance Areas

  • Maintain allocation fill rates across inventory categories.

  • Oversee and manage overall inventory performance.

  • Manage and reduce dealer back-order aging.

  • Maintain optimal inventory stock months.

  • Monitor and improve forecast accuracy.

  • Ensure ETD (Estimated Time of Delivery) accuracy.

  • Manage supplier relationships and performance.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum NQF Level 5 qualification (equivalent to 240 credits on Level 8 framework) in:

    • Supply Chain Management

    • Finance Management

    • Business Administration

    • Logistics Management

    • Or a related field

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a logistics or supply chain environment.

  • Experience in team collaboration and influencing others.

  • Project management exposure.

  • Experience in the automotive industry is an advantage.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • SAP R3 experience is essential.

  • Experience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.

  • Valid Driver’s Licence and ability to travel nationally is essential.
