Job Summary

Clover invites unemployed South African youth to participate in the Youth Employment Service (YES) Program as Merchandisers. This 12-month learnership in the Sales Department offers practical work experience at Clover branches, including Clayville, CDC Cape Town, Bloemfontein, and Queensburgh.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF4 qualification.
  • Proficiency in Business English (fluent).
  • Availability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities

Stock Control and Ordering

  • Apply proper stock control measures both in-store and in backup storage.
  • Minimize and document returns as per the store work plan.
  • Prevent out-of-stock situations and report any occurrences to the Area Manager (AM).
  • Place accurate and timely orders according to store needs.

Merchandising and Display

  • Ensure shelves are always clean, neat, and stocked with products.
  • Follow store flow and merchandising guidelines provided by the AM.
  • Maintain proper fridge conditions and ensure product quality.
  • Implement and maintain shelf plans and point-of-sale materials.

Administration and Customer Engagement

  • Maintain PI labels per product.
  • Capture relevant store and merchandising information.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance product presence in-store.
  • Manage relationships with store management, Area Managers, head office staff, customers, and fellow merchandisers.

Equipment and Crate Management

  • Control crates and equipment in accordance with company policies.
