Purpose of the Role
Medirite Plus Thabazimbi is looking for a Pharmacy Sales Assistant to support in-store retail operations and ensure excellent customer service. This includes handling customer queries, managing the sales floor, maintaining product knowledge, and assisting with visual merchandising.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Customer Service
- Greet customers and identify their needs to provide product recommendations.
- Handle customer payments and process transactions through the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Resolve customer queries promptly and escalate unresolved issues to management.
- Stay informed about promotions and special offers to enhance the customer experience.
Stock and Merchandising
- Restock items and maintain the sales floor per standard operating procedures.
- Conduct regular price audits to rectify discrepancies.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and maintain visual merchandising standards.
Operational Tasks
- Balance sales and receipts in line with company procedures.
- Maintain a solid understanding of payment processes (cash, cards, vouchers, etc.).
- Follow stock-receiving and merchandising standards accurately.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
Experience
- At least 5 months of point-of-sale/till experience in a retail environment.
- Proven retail sales experience.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Technical Skills: Computer literacy and familiarity with POS systems.
- Communication: Bilingual (preferably fluent in Afrikaans and English).
- Customer Service: Strong customer service orientation and engagement.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in processing transactions and maintaining stock.
- Personality Traits: Friendly, approachable, and team-oriented.
