Job Opportunity: Call Centre Consultant

Location: Bellville, Western Cape, South Africa
Company: Sanlam Group
Department: Call Centre (Currently based in Diep River, Cape Town)
Reporting To: Call Centre Team Leader


What Will You Do?

As a Call Centre Consultant, you will deliver a positive customer experience by assessing customers' needs and offering personal loans over the phone. Your role requires compliance with regulations, such as Treating Customers Fairly (TCF), Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services (FAIS), and the National Credit Act (NCA).


Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Customer Service:

    • Identify new business opportunities and exceed sales targets.
    • Provide helpful solutions and recommend products based on customer needs.
    • Ensure customer queries and problems are resolved efficiently.
    • Adhere to TCF principles and maintain ethical business practices.
  • Compliance & Documentation:

    • Capture customer information accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Ensure product applications and documentation are completed and processed correctly.
  • Market Awareness:

    • Keep updated on product changes and enhancements.
    • Gather and act on competitor information.
  • Team & Business Effectiveness:

    • Work collaboratively within the team to achieve business goals.
    • Adapt to changing business and customer needs.
    • Take accountability for personal performance and career development.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Matric/Grade 12 or an international equivalent.
  • FAIS qualification is required if the Date of First Appointment is close to expiry.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of sales experience in a contact centre environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience in fraud prevention and sales roles.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of the contact centre environment and financial services.
  • Understanding of personal loans and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Literacy and numeracy skills.
