Job Description
FlySafair is seeking First Officers to join their Flight Deck Crew at various bases in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, and Lanseria. The successful applicants will report to the Fleet Captain and play a crucial role in ensuring flight safety and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations: Ensure flight safety, monitor the flight path and aircraft systems, and perform pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks.
- Flight Management: Communicate with internal departments, external service providers, and passengers.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with SACAA regulations, international aviation laws, and company policies.
- Crew Coordination: Assist the Captain with operational and administrative duties. In the event of the Captain's incapacitation, the First Officer will assume command.
- Professional Standards: Maintain high standards of crew discipline, conduct, and appearance, both in and out of the cockpit.
- Documentation: Submit accurate legal documentation and reports.
- Flight Preparation: Stay informed about flight routes, weather conditions, and other essential information.
- Post-Flight: Complete all post-flight procedures and submit necessary documentation.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- SACAA Commercial Pilot License (Essential)
- SACAA ATPL (Preferred)
- Class 1 SACAA Medical Certificate (Essential)
- Knowledge of SACAA, ICAO regulations, and Doc 8186.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1500 hours total flying time, including 500 hours Multi-Turbine time (Essential).
- Multi-Crew experience (Essential).
- Commercial Jets experience over 20 tons (Advantageous).
- Type-rated on Boeing (Advantageous).
- Other Requirements:
- No existing medical conditions.
- Must be willing to sign applicable training bond(s).
- No criminal record.
- Must have own transport and RSA Driver’s License.
- RSA Citizen with proof of identity and valid RSA Passport.
- Willing to work irregular hours and shifts.
- Knowledge of Commercial and Airline Transport Pilots licensing content.
