Job Description
Parts Incorporated Africa is seeking two General Workers to join their warehouse department in Bloemfontein. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing general warehouse duties, including stock taking, binning, picking, packing, checking, moving stock, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
Binning
- Ensure proper binning of incoming merchandise and replenishment of inventory from bulk to pick locations.
- Assign bin location numbers to new products in the correct warehouse area.
- Report and update bin locations for new stock and inform your supervisor.
- Assist in replenishment functions and ensure all incoming goods are checked per company standards.
Picking
- Pick customer and branch orders promptly to meet order cutoff times.
- Use bulk locations as alternative bins only when stock is depleted or when picking bulk orders to prevent breakage of pack sizes.
- Follow instructions from your supervisor and perform all reasonable and lawful work-related tasks.
- Assist in stock take procedures to ensure inventory is accurately recorded.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure the warehouse is clean daily.
- Perform double-checks to prevent inventory loss and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Meet operational targets consistently.
Scanner Control
- Issue scanners to operators daily and book them out on the electronic app.
- Inspect returned scanners for damage and book them back into stock.
- Report any scanner damage to the supervisor and complete the daily scanner issue spreadsheet.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Grade 12 or equivalent literacy and numeracy qualification.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (preferred).
- Knowledge: Knowledge of spares, motor/engine parts, and warehouse systems and procedures is desirable.
