We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plant Supervisor to oversee the operation of our plant on a shift basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and maintenance of the plant while managing a competent and efficient team.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety, Health, and Environment:
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Adhere to FAMP and client policies and procedures.
- Promote a culture of safety and prevent environmental spillages.
- Wear PPE and report unsafe conditions or non-compliance.
Operations:
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the plant.
- Operate the plant to meet production targets.
- Optimize quality outputs and rectify process deficiencies.
- Monitor sampling procedures and adjust the operation as needed.
- Minimize plant stoppages for increased efficiency.
Maintenance:
- Inspect equipment in the working area and perform general maintenance.
- Execute planned maintenance tasks and unblock panels and chutes.
Managing the Team:
- Select and appoint competent and passionate team members.
- Assign work and monitor team performance.
- Train and develop team members while maintaining discipline.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 with Maths and Science.
- Basic Coal Preparation Certificate.
- At least 3-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in crushing plants (ROM Sections), including crushers, screens, and belts.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and unsupervised.
- Good planning, organizing, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- A valid driver’s license is an advantage.
