We are seeking a Machine Operator to assist in operations by making the working environment safer and more convenient. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of machines, including opening trenches and cleaning areas where other equipment has difficulty working.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Maintenance:
- Operate various machines including graders, ADTs, excavators, and FELs.
- Load, dig, clean trenches, and manage ditch slimes dams.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in the work area.
- Inspect the machine before and after the shift and complete inspection checklists.
- Adhere to safety rules and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 certificate.
- MQA Accredited certificates for Grader, ADT, Excavator, and FEL.
- Code 10 driver’s license.
- Minimum of 4 years’ operating experience in a tailings or similar environment.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to recognize unsafe conditions and behavior in the work environment.
- Understanding of safety rules and the importance of following them.
