The Process Control Assistant will support the Supervisor in managing the Water Purification System. This role involves operating manual valves, monitoring sump pumps, and performing general cleaning duties across various water purification facilities. The position also includes assisting in sedimentation and tank cleaning tasks as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Basic understanding of the water treatment process.
- Safety Training completed.
Primary Duties
- Water System Operations: Assist the Supervisor in isolating the water purification system by manually opening and closing valves and mounting drop gates.
- Pump Monitoring: Operate sump pumps to prevent flooding of the Water Recovery and Upwash Plant.
- Cleaning Tasks: Perform general cleaning of the Mol Plant, Sampling Kiosks, Poly Plant, Silica Plant, and other related facilities.
- Filter House Assistance: Help with cleaning in the filter house and during sedimentation and tank cleaning when required.
- Defect Reporting: Report any system defects or issues to the Supervisor promptly.
- General Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe working environment in all assigned areas.
Knowledge
- Safety Training: Understanding and adherence to safety protocols.
- Water Treatment Process: Basic knowledge of how water purification systems operate.
Skills
- Communication Skills: Ability to interact effectively with the team and report issues clearly.
- Housekeeping: Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
