Minimum Education: Higher Certificate in Logistics or related field
Experience: 1–2 years in Logistics (hazardous goods handling experience preferred)


Job Purpose:

To provide essential support to the Stores within the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), optimizing service delivery.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Higher Certificate in Logistics or related field
  • License: Valid driver’s license
  • Experience: 1–2 years in Logistics, preferably with experience handling hazardous or dangerous goods

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Functional Management:

  • Receive, accept, and store materials per standard procedures.
  • Drive and collect ordered items on behalf of the Store.
  • Escalate issues with goods received as needed.
  • Maintain records and logistics information in the system.
  • Coordinate with internal business units to ensure correct material allocation.
  • Provide support services within the Store.
  • Assist with arrangements or issuing instructions for material delivery.
  • Manage and organize supporting documentation for receiving and dispatching.
  • Adhere to all operational protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure adequate stock of store supplies at all times.
  • Capture Goods Received Vouchers (GRVs) accurately and on time.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile supplies.
  • Identify needs for stock replenishment.
  • Compile reports and provide relevant information to stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper filing and document management in line with legislative requirements.

Risk and Compliance Management:

  • Identify and adhere to fraud controls and risk prevention principles.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements.
  • Comply with all relevant laws, policies, and training, including Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) requirements.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders for effective communication and reputation management.
  • Participate in organizational committees and task teams.
  • Communicate inspections, non-conformances, and reports effectively.
  • Provide excellent customer service as per the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Address and resolve queries and issues within agreed time frames.
