Minimum Education: Higher Certificate in Logistics or related field
Experience: 1–2 years in Logistics (hazardous goods handling experience preferred)
Job Purpose:
To provide essential support to the Stores within the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), optimizing service delivery.
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualifications: Higher Certificate in Logistics or related field
- License: Valid driver’s license
- Experience: 1–2 years in Logistics, preferably with experience handling hazardous or dangerous goods
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Functional Management:
- Receive, accept, and store materials per standard procedures.
- Drive and collect ordered items on behalf of the Store.
- Escalate issues with goods received as needed.
- Maintain records and logistics information in the system.
- Coordinate with internal business units to ensure correct material allocation.
- Provide support services within the Store.
- Assist with arrangements or issuing instructions for material delivery.
- Manage and organize supporting documentation for receiving and dispatching.
- Adhere to all operational protocols and procedures.
- Ensure adequate stock of store supplies at all times.
- Capture Goods Received Vouchers (GRVs) accurately and on time.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile supplies.
- Identify needs for stock replenishment.
- Compile reports and provide relevant information to stakeholders.
- Ensure proper filing and document management in line with legislative requirements.
Risk and Compliance Management:
- Identify and adhere to fraud controls and risk prevention principles.
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
- Comply with all relevant laws, policies, and training, including Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) requirements.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders for effective communication and reputation management.
- Participate in organizational committees and task teams.
- Communicate inspections, non-conformances, and reports effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service as per the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Address and resolve queries and issues within agreed time frames.
