Job Overview

Truworths is seeking a detail-oriented individual with payroll and HR administration experience to join the Employee Benefits Department (EBD) at their Head Office in Cape Town. This role involves payroll processing, HR support, and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Payroll Management:

    • Maintain and update the Oracle payroll and HR system.
    • Process daily payroll inputs to ensure timely employee payments.
    • Handle salary-related tasks, including new engagements, terminations, promotions, and transfers.
  2. Record Maintenance:

    • Audit and maintain leave balances.
    • File and document all payroll inputs affecting salaries.
  3. Communication & Liaison:

    • Act as a point of contact between HR, divisional offices, Retirement Fund Administrators, and Healthcare Administrators.
    • Handle employment confirmations and other salary-related inquiries.
  4. General Administration:

    • Perform office duties such as filing, answering telephones, and ensuring efficient operations.
    • Reconcile and process month-end payments.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience:

    • 1-2 years in payroll and benefits administration.
    • Knowledge of PAYE, UIF, SDL, and statutory requirements is essential.
    • Experience with UK payroll and familiarity with Sectoral Determination 9 would be advantageous.
  • Skills:

    • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (knowledge of Oracle Payroll and HR system is a plus).
