Job Description
Motus Aftermarket Parts is seeking a Credit Risk Assessor to join their team at the Meadowview Head Office. The purpose of the role is to assess the creditworthiness of potential customers and manage credit-related tasks, such as creating new accounts and extending existing credit lines.
Key Responsibilities
Transactional Procedures and Applications
- Perform full credit collection functions.
- Efficiently prospect new customers.
- Assess credit applications for accuracy on a national level.
- Monitor and analyze applications to ensure they meet internal criteria.
- Verify information and conduct credit checks through ITC & CGIC for risk exposure.
- Prepare recommendations for presentation to the approval committee.
- Open new accounts and perform credit line reviews on existing customers.
- Maintain customer files and update information as necessary.
- Create new files for approved deals and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Reconcile ITC statements and submit for payment.
Enquiries/Correspondence and General Support
- Respond to specific correspondence and telephonic enquiries, providing routine information or referring queries as needed.
- Receive and prepare mail for postage, ensuring it meets required delivery instructions.
- Provide weekly status updates on all debtors allocated to the controller.
- Ensure proper documentation is filed according to the Debtors book filing system.
- Distribute required documents to the Financial Manager for sign-off.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Grade 12 required.
- Additional Qualification: Relevant certificate/diploma is advantageous.
- Experience:
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
- Experience in credit vetting.
- Familiarity with credit bureau institutions and analyzing credit risk information.
- Competence in using MS Office, databases, and accounting software.
