About Us

Tsebo Facilities Solution is seeking an Artisan Aid responsible for the layout, assembly, installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic systems. This includes working with systems for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and production processes in line with legislation, regulations, and standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

Maintained Mechanical Systems & Equipment (Planned & Preventative Maintenance): 

• Perform mechanical equipment evaluations to prevent breakdowns.  
• Complete job cards in consultation with the maintenance office.  
• Time management of scheduled jobs.  
• Prepare necessary tools and PPE for tasks.  
• Install, repair, and upgrade equipment according to preventative maintenance plans.  
• Diagnose system faults and use appropriate tools for repairs.  

Resolution of Breakdowns:  

•  Attend to all mechanical breakdowns.  
• Diagnose root causes of equipment breakdowns using techniques like 5-whys and RCA.  
• Follow procedures for updating documentation after repairs.  
• Escalate problems to minimize downtime.  

Mechanical Compliance:

•  Inspect and test fitting and welding systems for safety compliance.  
•  Ensure tools and parts are stored according to regulations.  
•  Stay updated with trade knowledge, including fitting and welding regulations.  
•  Complete documentation related to maintenance for future reference.  

Shift Supervision (If relevant):  

• Complete and sign off inspections for equipment and systems.  
• Assist clients with requests and concerns.  
• Supervise junior staff and contractors.  
• Provide support for escalated technical queries.

Skills and Competencies

•  Practical application of work procedures and processes.  
• Proficiency in Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.  
• Effective management of job schedules.  
• Experience with common hand tools, power tools, and the ability to read technical drawings.  
• Experience in the hospitality environment with a good understanding of customer expectations.  

Qualifications

• N3 Mechanical Engineering qualification and apprenticeship.  
• Trade Test as a Fitter.  
• 3-5 years’ experience in fitting, welding, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC, pipe repairs, rigging, and motor repairs.
