Rand Water is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Human Resources Assistant - ISO within its Strategic Human Capital portfolio. The successful candidate will provide administrative support, assist employees with HR-related queries, maintain accurate records and support various HR information systems and processes.

Job Summary

The Human Resources Assistant will provide administrative support and record-keeping services for the Information System office. The role involves supporting HR processes, maintaining confidential employee records and ensuring accurate information is captured across HR systems.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.

  • HR Certificate.

  • 1–2 years' experience in administration, preferably within an HR environment.

  • Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Valid driver's licence and ability to pass RW K53.

  • A National Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or an equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification will be an added advantage.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

General HR Administration

  • Providing efficient general administrative support, including preparing correspondence, forms and reports and arranging meetings.

  • Assisting employees with HR-related queries in a timely manner.

  • Referring complex HR queries to the appropriate HR section when necessary.

  • Maintaining accurate records and administrative documentation relating to HR processes.

  • Protecting the integrity and confidentiality of HR documentation.

Employee Onboarding and Benefits

  • Supporting the planning and onboarding of new employees.

  • Assisting with providing information regarding employee benefits, including medical aid and retirement benefits.

HR Information Systems

  • Ensuring accurate and timely capturing of information on SAP for engagements, staff movements and terminations.

  • Responding to employee queries relating to the HRIS system.

  • Assisting with the timely capturing of employee leave on the ESS system.

  • Maintaining the integrity and accuracy of leave information.

  • Assisting with capturing new employees' qualifications on Web Answer while ensuring data integrity.

  • Assisting with payroll-related queries.

Knowledge and Competencies
