Glencore is currently recruiting for an Attendant (Plant) – B1 to join its UG2 operation in Rustenburg.
Purpose of the Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of the chrome recovery beneficiation plant while ensuring efficient production, quality output, and compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Safely operating the beneficiation chrome recovery plant and supporting processes.
Completing pre-start inspections and reporting equipment defects.
Performing sampling duties to ensure quality saleable product.
Monitoring plant feed, sump levels, pumps, feed distributors, and water balance.
Reporting process deviations to the Shift Supervisor.
Monitoring process water quality, thickener circuits, and the flocculant plant.
Performing routine maintenance on metallurgical plant equipment.
Cleaning and unblocking spirals, pipes, nozzles, chutes, launders, sumps, and distributors.
Responding to plant breakdowns and assisting the Engineering Department when required.
Carrying out general housekeeping duties throughout the plant.
Following all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Participating in operational safety initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
Grade 10.
At least 1 year of relevant plant experience in spiral, HMS, crushing, and screening operations.
Good communication skills.
Medical fitness to work at heights and in confined spaces.
