Job Purpose:
RCL FOODS is seeking a Storeman to efficiently manage stock for uninterrupted production, ensuring stock rotation on a First In First Out (FIFO) basis, accurate recordkeeping, and support for the engineering team in procurement and stock control.
Minimum Requirements:
-
Grade 12 / Matric
-
Minimum 2 years experience in a FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment
-
Forklift driving licence
-
Strong administrative and organisational skills
-
Proficient in Advanced Excel, Email, MS Teams
-
Experience with SAP (stock expensing, inventory control) – highly advantageous
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Stock Management & Control
-
Monitor and maintain stock levels for uninterrupted production
-
Rotate stock using FIFO
-
Record and verify incoming stock deliveries; sign off on correct deliveries
-
Log over/under-deliveries, returns, and relevant documentation
-
Move received stock to designated bin locations
-
Perform daily spot checks and monthly stock takes
-
Investigate and report stock variances to the Senior Buyer & Plant Engineer
Systems & Admin
-
Process stock expenses in SAP
-
Use Microsoft Teams Workflow to request quotations and manage orders
-
Track non-stock items and inform engineering team
-
Ensure proper documentation (invoices, delivery notes, orders) is attached upon delivery
-
Maintain MSDS files for lubricants, gas, oil, and chemicals
Supplier & Engineering Support

Weekly follow-up on outstanding orders with suppliers
-
Assist in weekly planning meetings (identify spares, prioritise special requests)

Identify and request material codes for new stock items
-
Report updates and issues in daily engineering meetings
General

Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness in the store

Support with goods returned and proper documentation
