Purpose of the Role
To manage and lead a production shift to safely and efficiently meet daily production targets in accordance with safety, quality, and operational standards. The role ensures plant performance, optimises resources, manages personnel, and contributes to business growth and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

Education:
-
Grade 12 with Maths, Science, and English and NQF 4 Occupational Trade Qualification
-
OR NQF 4 Qualification with NQF 4 Occupational Trade Qualification
-
Supervisory qualification is advantageous
-

Experience:
-
At least 8 years in production (manufacturing plant environment)
-
Prior supervisory experience is a strong advantage
-

Skills:

Strong communication (written & verbal)
-
Troubleshooting and decision-making abilities
-
Good planning, organisational and leadership skills
-
Knowledge of SHERQ and plant safety standards
-
Strong understanding of equipment utilisation and production processes
-
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead daily operations and production shift activities to meet production targets
-
Manage resource planning, safety compliance, and performance
-
Issue and manage work permits and ensure adherence to safety protocols
-
Monitor and report key production parameters and performance metrics
-
Resolve production and performance issues quickly
-
Maintain compliance with legal and internal SHERQ (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001) requirements
-
Conduct or support risk assessments, RCAs, and deviation analyses
-
Provide coaching, training, and development for shift team members
-
Ensure effective shift handovers and proper logging of shift activities
-
Drive a culture of high performance, safety, innovation, and continuous improvement
-
Collaborate with internal departments and contribute to project initiatives (e.g., Clean Fuels 2)
