Purpose of the Job
The Assistant Storeman is responsible for monitoring and organizing inventory, managing stock levels, and ensuring efficient storage systems. The role includes supporting stock control processes and ensuring items are recorded, issued, and stored correctly.


Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, rotate, and issue stock efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate records of all items issued from the store.

  • Use Microsoft Excel and Outlook for communication and inventory tracking.

  • Supervise staff to ensure productivity, time management, and attendance.

  • Clear daily production stock from the factory floor.

  • Participate in and support the month-end stock take process.

  • Apply knowledge of the value chain and store management processes.

  • Assist in strategy development and communication related to stock control.

  • Maintain accountability for stock and processes within the store.

Qualification Requirements

  • Degrees 12 (Matric)

  • Knowledge of raw and production materials


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role

  • 1 to 2 years' experience specifically in stock control


Other Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with ordering technical goods

  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, public holidays, and irregular hours (6-day work week)
