About the Role
Novus Print Montague Gardens, a division recognized for manufacturing excellence and continuous process optimization, is seeking a SHEQ Officer with 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will report to the Senior SHEQ Officer and will be responsible for implementing and maintaining SHEQ standards and compliance systems in line with legal and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Implement and maintain ISO standards (14001, 45001, 31001) and internal SHEQ policies
-
Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections
-
Investigate incidents, report findings, and implement corrective/preventive measures
-
Assist in developing and updating safe work and standard operating procedures
-
Manage permanent contractors and ensure legal compliance of subcontractors
-
Provide induction training to employees, contractors, and visitors
-
Organize toolbox talks and communicate SHEQ updates
-
Assist in compiling SHEQ reports and documentation
Educational Requirements
-
Grade 12 / Matric
-
National Diploma in Safety Management or Environmental Health (essential)

SHEQ qualifications such as SAMTRAC or NEBOSH (advantageous)
Experience Requirements

Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a SHEQ role within a manufacturing environment

Strong working knowledge of ISO standards:

ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)

ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)

ISO 9001 (Quality Management)

ISO 31001 (Risk Management)

ISO 22000 (Food Safety – advantageous)

Proven experience with incident investigations

Understanding of environmental legislation and compliance

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
