Purpose of the Role

The Sales Executive is responsible for achieving monthly vehicle sales targets by delivering excellent customer service, developing and retaining a strong customer base, and identifying new sales opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly new vehicle sales targets

  • Develop and implement strategies to retain and grow the customer base

  • Proactively manage customer expectations to ensure a premium experience

  • Identify and pursue new revenue streams and leads

  • Handle customer escalations and provide timely feedback

  • Negotiate deals and close vehicle sales

  • Conduct accurate customer needs analysis and vehicle evaluations

  • Stay up to date on market trends, competitor offerings, and customer behaviour


Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 (Matric)

  • Experience: At least 3 years' experience as a Sales Executive in the motor industry

  • Driver’s Licence: Code 8 (Essential)

  • Computer Literacy: Required

  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding monthly sales targets


Skills & Personal Attributes

Sales & Customer Management:

  • Strong closing skills and the ability to generate and convert leads

  • Ability to perform accurate customer qualification and needs analysis

  • High-level customer service and professionalism

Communication & Negotiation:

  • Strong oral communication and influencing skills

  • Effective negotiation and persuasiveness

  • Ability to interpret customer behaviours and emotions

Industry Knowledge (Advantageous):

  • Product knowledge (Hyundai vehicles and competitors)

  • Understanding of dealership policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of the retail motor industry and its economic context

  • Familiarity with systems such as Higher Gear

Other:

  • Self-motivated with strong time management and organisational skills

  • Experience in cold calling and expanding a client base

  • Bilingual or multilingual (advantageous)
