Job Description:

RCL FOODS is seeking to employ a Checker based in Randfontein, reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor.
The Checker will be responsible for conducting all necessary inbound and outbound stock management checks in the warehouse, ensuring compliance with the company’s policies and procedures.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12)

  • Computer literacy

  • At least 1 year experience in a warehousing or similar environment

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Logical thinking ability


Duties & Responsibilities:

Checking:

  • Accurately check all picked and palletised stock across the warehouse before dispatch and loading

  • Ensure stock is correctly labelled, placed, and stored at the right temperature

  • Remove damaged, expired, or non-conforming stock according to company procedures

  • Follow warehouse best practices and meet KPIs

  • Inspect incoming products for quality and quantity

Housekeeping:

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization

  • Store cleaning equipment correctly

  • Ensure secure and compliant stacking of stock

  • Remove empty pallets from pick levels promptly

  • Keep the warehouse floor, walkways, and cage areas tidy

Stock Control:

  • Stack products securely and correctly (e.g., lighter items on top of heavier ones)

  • Conduct dispatch spot checks during loading

  • Ensure proper handling, rotation, and stacking of stock

  • Monitor and minimize product damage during receiving

  • Prevent overloading, shortages, and incorrect loads

  • Keep track of stock movements at all times

Stock Count Preparations:

  • Help prepare the warehouse for stock counts

  • Isolate and record damaged stock

  • Ensure easy product access for counting

  • Participate in stock counts as required

  • Report stock-related issues to supervisors

Loading Rate Monitoring:

  • Monitor and maintain speed and accuracy of loading

  • Complete performance sheets and record issues or delays

Occupational Health and Safety:

  • Comply with all health and safety regulations

  • Maintain good housekeeping and follow safe work practices

Teamwork and Self-Management:

  • Take ownership of tasks and manage time effectively

  • In the absence of the Warehouse Coordinator, issue instructions to Forklift Drivers, Loaders, and Pickers

  • Ensure consistent quality and productivity

  • Communicate proactively about issues or missed deadlines

  • Demonstrate commitment to teamwork and company values
