Purpose of the Role:

The Stock Controller will be responsible for the accurate receiving, processing, and monitoring of goods in a retail store environment. The role ensures optimal stock levels, efficient returns, and supports store operations through precise inventory handling and control.

Key Objectives:

Receive goods accurately by comparing delivery against invoices
Timely and accurate capturing of invoices on internal systems
Ensure all deliveries are correct in quantity, quality, and condition
Manage and process returns and credit notes according to SOPs
Maintain an orderly storeroom environment
Identify and report stock discrepancies
Handle labour-intensive duties, including lifting heavy items and offloading pallets
Assist other departments as operationally required

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Grade 12 (Matric)
1+ year relevant experience in a retail or FMCG environment
Familiarity with inventory control procedures

Key Skills & Competencies:

Solid understanding of stock management best practices
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
Good problem-solving abilities
Numerate, with solid communication skills
Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Office 365
Working knowledge of SAP or similar inventory systems

Workplace Requirements:

Physically fit (lifting and offloading stock is part of daily duties)
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail setting
Team player with a hands-on approach
