Site Supervisor
Job Type: 1 Year Fixed Term Contract
Location: KwaZulu-Natal
Purpose of the Job
Responsible for coordinating and supervising operations to ensure smooth and efficient delivery services. The Site Supervisor manages driver attendance and documentation, oversees vehicle route planning and dispatch, ensures fleet readiness and safety, and enforces adherence to operational protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management

Supervise and monitor drivers’ attendance registers and absenteeism, maintaining optimal staffing levels.

Coordinate driver-related requirements with the Labour Broker and Regional Manager.

Ensure accurate capture of drivers’ hours on weekly wages reports.
-
Manage all fuel-related processes including refueling, fuel consumption tracking, EDC/Nedfleet card usage, and fuel reconciliation.

Ensure fleet condition meets standards outlined in the SEC Manual.

Coordinate daily route planning, vehicle loading/offloading, documentation handover, and driver dispatch.
-
Ensure compliance with accident claims, product claims, and vehicle breakdown procedures.
-
Maintain regular communication with the Account Manager on all operational and distribution activities.

Debrief drivers’ trip sheets and cross-check with vehicle tracking reports.
-
Supervise pre- and post-trip inspections, logbooks, workshop bookings, and Certificate of Fitness checks.

Manage ad hoc vehicle requirements as needed.

Verify that all driver documentation is valid and current (PDPs, licences, medical certificates, special certifications).

Monitor issuance and use of PPE and uniforms.

Ensure vehicles have functioning tracking systems and arrange repairs when faulty.

Maintain site housekeeping standards for a clean and safe environment.

Conduct monthly panic button tests on vehicles.
-
Conduct and submit monthly tyre surveys.
-
Ensure deliveries comply with front-end planning requirements.
-
Confirm load security and safety compliance prior to dispatch.
-
Securely lock away vehicle keys at the end of each workday.

Oversee completion, handover, and sign-off of customer documentation for accuracy and compliance.
Customer Service & Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong customer relationships by consistently meeting service levels.

Monitor KPIs and service level agreements to ensure targets are met.
-
Compile and present customer KPIs, operational feedback, and highlight challenges proactively.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric)
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
