Purpose of the Role:

To assist the Process Manager in ensuring efficient and effective plant operations that meet production, safety, and quality objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

Safety

  • Fulfil responsibilities under MHSA Section 2.9.2 as a legal appointee.

  • Lead the team in compliance with company SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) strategy and Zero Harm framework.

  • Ensure team understanding and implementation of all company safety policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Identify safety improvement opportunities in line with company strategy.

  • Identify and coordinate SHE training requirements.

  • Participate in incident and accident investigations.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Operations

  • Achieve set production and quality targets.

  • Manage and monitor production shift performance.

  • Participate in maintenance planning and execution.

  • Supervise and sign off on maintenance tasks.

  • Ensure plant operations remain within budget constraints.

  • Maintain high operational standards.

  • Identify and drive process optimization initiatives.

  • Control and monitor process consumable usage according to company standards.

People and System Management

  • Align team objectives with the broader company strategy.

  • Effectively delegate responsibilities and monitor outcomes.

  • Manage timekeeping, attendance, and other operational systems.

  • Identify, develop, and retain talent within the team.

  • Schedule and plan workforce requirements.

Administration

  • Maintain accurate records and reports for safety, production, maintenance, personnel, and quality control.


Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in coal processing plant operations.

  • At least 3 years of proven supervisory experience.
