Main Purpose of the Job
To transport and escort patients, equipment, files, and related items between different hospital departments to support operations and help deliver high standards of patient care.
Key Responsibility Areas

Safely transport and escort patients to designated locations.

Assist in emergency evacuations as needed.

Perform driving duties when requested, in line with hospital protocols.

Maintain confidentiality and uphold patient rights and Mediclinic values.
Required Education

Essential: Grade 10

Desired: None
Required Experience
-
Essential Minimum: Experience in client services or dealing with the public
-
Desired: Previous experience in healthcare (e.g. care work)
Required Skills and Knowledge

Valid driver’s licence with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP)

Understanding of the Patient Rights Charter

Proficient in English (reading, speaking, and writing)

Kinetic handling and safe patient movement principles

Awareness of medico-legal risks

Familiarity with two-way radio communication systems

Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office)

Knowledge of internal emergency evacuation protocols

Understanding of basic administrative duties

Awareness of Health and Safety legislation and regulations
