Main Purpose of the Job
To attend to emergency calls and provide intermediate life support (ILS) medical care in line with the applicable scope of practice.

Promote and maintain a positive public image of ER24
Education Requirements
Essential:
-
Ambulance Emergency Assistant Certificate or
-
Higher Certificate in Emergency Medical Care
Desired:
-
Completion of Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) training as published by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
-
Note: If not yet completed, you will be required to do so during your probation period if appointed

Experience Requirements
Essential:
-
Minimum of 1 year EMS (Emergency Medical Services) experience
Desired:
-
1 year experience specifically as an Intermediate Life Support (ILS) practitioner
Required Skills and Knowledge
-
Understanding and application of best practices in EMS
-
Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
-
Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
-
Knowledge of local facilities, travel routes, and demographic areas
-
Familiarity with HPCSA scope of practice and Clinical Practice Guidelines
-
Ability to complete accurate Patient Report Forms (PRFs)
