Purpose of the Role:

To provide personalised financial advice and planning to both new and existing clients. You will market and sell Sanlam’s financial products while building sustainable, long-term client relationships in a compliant, ethical, and customer-focused manner.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Growth & Sales:

  • Meet targets for recurring and single premium revenues

  • Market Sanlam’s financial solutions and promote the brand

  • Engage clients through segmentation strategies and customer profiling

2. Prospecting & Lead Generation:

  • Use personal networks, referrals, and social/business interactions to generate leads

  • Leverage Sanlam’s resources and client base to uncover new opportunities

  • Implement client-focused marketing campaigns

3. Client Consultations & Financial Planning:

  • Conduct comprehensive fact-finding and needs analysis

  • Provide suitable product and portfolio recommendations

  • Ensure all interactions comply with FAIS and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) standards

  • Maintain and annually review client portfolios

4. Service & Relationship Management:

  • Deliver ethical, courteous, and professional service

  • Ensure all client queries are resolved promptly

  • Focus on long-term relationship building and loyalty

5. Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of appointments, consultations, and outcomes

  • Regularly update client profiles and system records

  • Track and report revenue and performance against targets


Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)

  • FAIS-compliant (Fit and Proper status if registered with FSCA >24 months)

  • Regulatory Examination (RE5) completed if applicable


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Financial needs analysis

  • Risk and compliance awareness

  • Goal setting and revenue generation

  • Use of digital tools and social media for marketing

  • Strong client relationship and communication skills
