Role Purpose:

The Channel Lead: Trade Partners is a senior management role responsible for overseeing the operational support and enablement of Indirect Trade Partners and Sales Teams across Vodacom regions. The goal is to strengthen the Trade Partner Channel in alignment with the company’s broader Vodacom Business Strategy. This includes leadership of the trade partner support team, improving systems and processes, and driving efficiencies through tools like CRM systems.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Partner and Channel Management

  • Lead a team supporting trade partner business sales, especially fixed and cloud products.

  • Drive channel improvement programs, projects, and automation tools.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, product, sales, and marketing.

  • Implement and optimize CRM tools (CPQ, VPP, Siebel) to maximize sales opportunities.

  • Escalation point for all operational partner issues (pre- and post-sales).

2. Stakeholder Management

  • Provide technical and operational support to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with partners to align them with Vodacom’s customer experience and channel strategy.

3. Trade Partner Support Activities

  • Oversee CRM opportunity creation, billing account applications, and order tracking.

  • Handle escalations: vetting delays, stuck orders, billing disputes, SIM/router replacements, etc.

  • Support partner-related service issues, product quoting problems, and cancellation management.

  • Coordinate ad hoc admin requests and partner account changes.

4. People Leadership

  • Manage and grow the trade partner support team.

  • Implement knowledge sharing, coaching, and skills development aligned with strategic goals.

  • Lead performance reviews, resolve grievances, and embed Vodacom’s company culture ("Spirit of Vodacom").


Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: BCom Degree or Equivalent

  • Preferred: Postgraduate qualification in Business, Commerce, Finance

  • Experience:

    • 8+ years in telecom/ICT/tech-related environments

    • Partner channel or distribution management experience

    • 5–8 years in a managerial role leading a partner support or sales team

    • Hands-on knowledge of indirect sales models and partner ecosystems

    • Experience in solution selling and CRM platforms (CPQ, VPP, Siebel)
