Introduction
Are you passionate about retail and service excellence? Are you confident in driving sales and building customer loyalty? An exciting and challenging opportunity has become available for an Assistant Store Manager, reporting directly to the Store Manager.
Purpose of the Job
To support the Store Manager in the efficient operation of the store by driving sales and service excellence, ensuring compliance, and supporting the team to achieve performance targets.
Key Objectives

Drive and maximise store sales through promotions, cross-selling, and excellent customer service.

Oversee daily operational activities, including expenses, stock, shrinkage, housekeeping, and administration.

Execute in-store visual merchandising and promotional standards aligned with the brand.

Support and manage staff performance, including in the absence of the Store Manager.

Assist with daily staff scheduling in line with labour policies and model.

Implement and drive customer service strategies that improve the shopping experience and increase ClubCard participation.

Ensure timely completion of administrative responsibilities, including employee attendance and HR records.

Promote company values to position the brand as the customer's first choice in health and beauty retail.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience

Essential: Grade 12 with 50% in Maths and English

Essential: Relevant Retail/Business Management qualification (external applicants)

Desirable: Degree in Retail/Business Management

Experience:
-
Minimum 1 year in an Assistant Store Manager role (Retail/FMCG) OR
-
Successful completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme

Financial management exposure (budgets, P&L, financial ratios)
