Planner (Global Grade 09)

Purpose of the Role
To plan, schedule, and monitor service jobs for heavy machinery. Ensure productivity, profitability, and efficient use of resources while complying with warranty policies and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities

Schedule and track job progress using a planning system

Plan cost elements: labor, parts, and outsourced work

Maximize productivity and profitability
-
Apply and investigate warranty claims and service warranties
-
Issue job instructions and dispatch artisans
-
Handle bought-out service requests and component returns
-
Follow up on parts, quotes, and service reports
-
Contribute to meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Manage Work-in-Progress and cost center expenses
-
Address internal and external customer queries
Minimum Requirements
-
Education: Matric / Grade 12
-
Qualification: Trade Certificate (Diesel or Heavy Earthmoving Mechanic)

Experience: Minimum 3 years post-apprenticeship or learnership
Skills & Competencies

Proficient in MS Office, SIS, STW/ET

SAP knowledge (advantageous)

Good technical and problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail and rule orientation

Effective communication and customer service skills

Understanding of service work order process

Teamwork and willingness to work overtime

Financial awareness, influencing, and negotiation skills
