Purpose of the Role:
To assist in achieving production targets and ensure effective housekeeping in the Rubber Plant, with a strong focus on safety, painting components, and managing general receiving (GR) area operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Safety:
-
Demonstrate full commitment to Weir’s zero harm safety culture

Comply with all statutory HSE, 5S, and housekeeping requirements
Technical Duties:
-
Report damage or misuse of company equipment or property
-
Perform painting touch-ups on sprayed castings
-
Clean parts using thinners, apply grease and tectyl
-
Check parts for minor defects and ensure compliance with quality standards
Receiving & Labeling:
-
Run receiving reports and resolve discrepancies
-
Print and label parts according to material identification
Inventory & WIP:
-
Conduct cycle counts
-
Manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) aging and critical parts in the Machine Shop
-
Maintain a clean and organized GR area using 6S/5S practices
Job Requirements:
Minimum Education & Experience:
-
Matric (Grade 12)
-
12 to 24 months experience in a similar role (or equivalent combination of education and training)
Licenses Required:
-
Valid driver’s license
-
Valid forklift license
-
Valid overhead crane license
