Purpose of the Job

Are you passionate about retail and ready to grow into a leadership role? This opportunity is designed to develop future store leaders through hands-on experience and structured training in the Checkers way. As a Designate Assistant Manager, you'll support daily store operations while building the skills and knowledge required to take on a leadership role in the near future.


Key Objectives

  • Learn and apply effective store management principles

  • Support sales and profitability initiatives

  • Assist with recruitment, training, and development of staff

  • Help implement operational procedures aligned with company standards

  • Participate in inventory management and visual merchandising

  • Promote customer satisfaction and handle customer inquiries professionally


Training Scope (Task Information)

  • Training & Development: Structured program covering store operations, team management, and customer engagement

  • Operational Support: Exposure to opening/closing, cash management, and stock handling

  • Customer Relations: Learn to manage queries and resolve complaints

  • Sales Monitoring: Analyse sales reports and identify improvement areas

  • Visual Merchandising: Maintain displays per company guidelines

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and company policies


Minimum Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / Matric

  • Advantageous: Diploma/Degree in Business Management, Retail Management, or related field

  • Relevant experience may substitute for formal qualification


Experience Required

  • Experience in retail or customer service roles is preferred

  • A strong interest in retail management is essential
