Job Description:
The Assistant Management Accountant will perform professional accounting work, including the compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. The role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles and hands-on experience with bookkeeping. Key tasks may include ledger maintenance, journal entry preparation, fixed asset and inventory accounting, trial balance and financial statement preparation, cost accounting, and bank reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing financial and management reports

Provide financial analysis, commentary, and support across the OMC value chain (distribution, administration, product management, and group reporting)

Engage with business unit managers on financial results and expense trends

Lead the detailed expense budgeting process

Support the maintenance of a strong financial control environment

Work within a team while managing individual priorities

Adapt to business and system changes that impact financial processes

Meet strict internal and external deadlines
Minimum Requirements:

Matric
-
BCom Accounting or equivalent finance qualification
-
At least 2 years’ experience in a finance-related role

Experience in the insurance industry will be advantageous

High attention to detail

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
