About the Role

The Directorate of Teaching, Learning and Student Success (DTLSS) plays a vital role in supporting the University’s Institutional Operational Plan through implementing the Strategic Plan for Teaching and Learning. This internal vacancy reports to the Director: DTLSS and requires a dedicated Administrative Officer to assist in creating a positive working climate within the directorate.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage office and diary schedules efficiently

  • Coordinate diverse activities for the Director and staff

  • Handle office correspondence professionally

  • Liaise with internal and external clients

  • Administer budgets and monitor expenditures

  • Arrange national and international flight bookings

  • Coordinate events and meetings

  • Develop and maintain information management systems

  • Administer institutional commitments on behalf of the Director’s office

  • Maintain an efficient filing system

  • Uphold confidentiality at all times

  • Take minutes at committees and meetings


Minimum Requirements

  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12) with at least 3 years’ proven secretarial/administrative experience

  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure

  • Computer literacy and working knowledge of MAS, InforLN, and Student Enrolment Management systems (essential)

  • Familiarity with the teaching and learning environment (advantageous)

  • Bachelor’s Degree (advantageous)
