Role Overview:

The Shipping Clerk will manage shipping operations with accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities include preparing shipping documentation, coordinating shipments, tracking orders, and collaborating with logistics partners to ensure on-time deliveries. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a fast-paced work environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and coordinate shipment orders accurately and efficiently.

  • Prepare and manage shipping and commercial documents such as bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and shipping labels.

  • Verify and record incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring no damage or discrepancies.

  • Coordinate with freight forwarders for timely pickups and deliveries.

  • Maintain inventory records and monitor stock levels.

  • Collaborate with sales and warehouse teams to resolve shipping inquiries and issues.

  • Facilitate smooth loading and unloading with warehouse personnel.

  • Arrange customs documentation and ensure compliance with international regulations.

  • Track shipments and provide status updates to stakeholders.

  • Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies or delays.

  • Suggest improvements to shipping processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric / National Senior Certificate.

  • 2-3 years’ experience in shipping or logistics preferred but not mandatory.

  • Basic knowledge of shipping procedures and documentation.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and shipping software.

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work well in a team and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Basic math skills for shipping cost and quantity calculations.

  • Willingness to learn new processes and technologies.

  • Familiarity with international shipping regulations is a plus.
