Role Overview:
The Shipping Clerk will manage shipping operations with accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities include preparing shipping documentation, coordinating shipments, tracking orders, and collaborating with logistics partners to ensure on-time deliveries. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a fast-paced work environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Process and coordinate shipment orders accurately and efficiently.

Prepare and manage shipping and commercial documents such as bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and shipping labels.

Verify and record incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring no damage or discrepancies.

Coordinate with freight forwarders for timely pickups and deliveries.

Maintain inventory records and monitor stock levels.

Collaborate with sales and warehouse teams to resolve shipping inquiries and issues.

Facilitate smooth loading and unloading with warehouse personnel.

Arrange customs documentation and ensure compliance with international regulations.

Track shipments and provide status updates to stakeholders.

Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies or delays.

Suggest improvements to shipping processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Minimum Requirements:

Matric / National Senior Certificate.

2-3 years’ experience in shipping or logistics preferred but not mandatory.

Basic knowledge of shipping procedures and documentation.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and shipping software.

Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work well in a team and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Basic math skills for shipping cost and quantity calculations.

Willingness to learn new processes and technologies.
-
Familiarity with international shipping regulations is a plus.
