Role Purpose
To manage and coordinate all salvage-related processes within the Motor Claims environment. This includes negotiating release fees, arranging salvage upliftment, managing stock in bond, collecting registration documents from finance houses, invoicing salvage dealers, and allocating payments—ensuring full compliance with internal policies, SLAs, and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Acknowledge and document salvage-related requests from assessors and clients

Allocate requests across the team and ensure timely acknowledgement and action

Coordinate with internal and external providers (claims, panel beaters, towing companies, finance houses, etc.)

Negotiate release fees and discounts within mandate; escalate where necessary

Ensure all documentation (e.g., settlement letters, vehicle registrations) is accurately processed and recorded

Maintain compliance with SOPs, record-keeping, and document security

Manage invoicing and reconciliation processes with salvage dealers

Accurately update all internal systems with notes, invoices, and transaction details

Track document movement and maintain organized record management

Ensure vehicle upliftment and registration processes comply with legal requirements

Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, escalating when needed

Support financial targets through effective negotiation and stakeholder collaboration

Deliver quality customer service and maintain professional communication throughout

Continuously update the system with relevant activity and feedback
Knowledge & Experience Requirements

Minimum 5 years' experience in insurance claims and salvage

Experience working with licensing departments (at least 2 years)

Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook (used for instructions, letters, etc.)

Understanding of financial implications and operational processes

Familiarity with vehicle registration and coding procedures
Educational Requirements

Matric (Grade 12)

Higher Certificate in Short Term Insurance (Essential)
